The Post holder will be a member of the Private Outpatient nursing team appointed to support Registered Nurses in the delivery of direct care for patients receiving treatment and diagnosis for heart and lung conditions. Working days: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a week Shift pattern 7.5 hours: • 08:00hrs to 16:00hrs • 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs • 10:00hrs to 18:00hrs • 13:00hrs to 21:00hrs Advert closing: 1st May 2024 Interview date: 15th May 2024 The role involves contact on a physical and psychological level with patients and their families. The post holder will undertake a range of activities under the supervision of a registered nurse, having been assessed and deemed competent in the activities required. As well as basic nursing care to patients, the post holder is expected to escort patients when necessary and perform clerical/administrative duties as required to facilitate the smooth running of the department. We provide treatment for people with heart and lung disease, including rare and complex conditions, offering some of the most sophisticated treatment that is available anywhere in the world Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, providing nursing support, care and treatment and carrying out nursing procedures within the sphere of required competencies. Provide support and assistance to professional colleagues when they are performing specific therapies, clinical treatments, and investigative procedures for patients. The post will involve you working closely with qualified nurses. Both Adults and paediatric patients are seen within the rooms with respiratory and cardiac conditions. They are seen for Private medical consultations, cardiac, respiratory and surgical investigations. Post-operative cardiac, thoracic, respiratory and cardiology care. The work load can be very demanding and involves phlebotomy, (proven skills for this procedure a must). Recording of 12 lead ECG’s, spirometry recording , performing baseline clinical observations and basic wound care management. You should also be computer literate ( knowledge of working with EPIC, would be advantageous) As well as working closely with private patients’ nurses and the medical consultants, you will work with the Private patients’ administration team and other multidisciplinary professionals.
